“I recently had an old wooden deck taken off and on new one put on a second floor. I used this company about 6 years ago for siding and 54 windows were replaced in the home. I love the windows and 3 years ago, a new roof which Mary Lou helped with having replaced. I am so happy with them that I don’t ever bother getting prices from other contractors. Don’t need to because I know she will go through whatever extremes she and her crew have to for the customer to be happy.
She works non-stop including weekends which is unheard of. She is honest and very meticulous in her work and will stop by to make sure the crew is up to her standards. Her crew is unbelievable and their attention to fine detail and great ideas are so welcoming. I am now waiting for new doors and Mary Lou has worked endlessly on finding what I wanted and needed. I won’t work with anyone else but this company.

What I ended up with is an ecstatic wife absolutely awesome life. The crew as professional and experienced as you can get, you can see that they know what they’re doing, are polite, clean, and do unbelievable work. No rush job, measure 3x cut once. Oh and by the way an energy-efficient home improvement qualifies for a federal 30% tax credit.

“Mary Lou and her crew did a fantastic rehab of my home. My friends affectionately used to call it “The Hobbit House” because of all the moss on the roof and mold on the siding. The windows rattled in the slightest breeze, my back porch was moldy and sagging and overall I had a sinking feeling when I drove up to my little house.
Now I love my home. The color we chose for the siding is clean and chic, Cape Cod Gray. Mary Lou suggested design upgrades to improve the overall curb appeal so we added vinyl shingle siding to the front to complement the overall look. At the last minute I asked for a front porch portico and her team was able to build exactly what was proportional and appropriate for my home from just my drawings.
Mary Lou spent considerable time helping me pick new windows, French doors, and storm doors to match my style and the area homes. They are wrapped in bright white trim that makes them pop. The roof is no exception. After peeling back the layers we determined I had to have the whole roof torn off and new plywood installed. Mary Lou worked with me on the pricing and within two days I had a gleaming roof — no more moss!
As I sit in my new sunroom with brand-new airy skylights and reflect on this huge upgrade, I have to say I am so pleased I made the decision to go with Better Homes Siding & Improvements. “Better Homes Window and Siding is an excellent choice for your roofing, siding, and window projects. From initial contact with their representative, Mary Lou Martino, to the signing of the contract and completion of the work, required less than three weeks. Installers arrived when promised, completed the task as required, stayed within the estimate, and cleaned up the site upon completion. In addition, minor corrections to the project were made without any additional problems. We are anticipating using Better Homes Windows and sidings for phase two of the project next spring.”
“The task to install the new vinyl siding included new utility vents, new attic vents, and trim that was aluminum wrapped around the window frames, door frames, fascia boards, and rake boards. There were sections of the house where there was some water damage to the wood behind the old siding as well as damage to some rake boards. All these damaged areas were repaired in a manner that more than met my expectations. Wood repairs to the custom-made bay windows were better than the original construction. The new seamless rain gutters were installed in half a day at the end of this project. I was impressed with Mary Lou.”

We ran into an issue with some concrete retaining a wall that was discovered after the demolition of the front porch and we had two days to decide how to revise the original design. Mine was the third house in our family that she had done major work for, and we have all been extremely satisfied. This past April my bay window must have broken a seal and became foggy. I called Mary Lou, who got back to me right away and even though it took six months for the window to be replaced, the delays were mainly related to what we have been hearing all around with COVID-related construction issues regarding materials, transportation, etc. She kept on it and communicated regularly as to what was going on. My window was replaced right before Thanksgiving in time for the holiday and winter and looks phenomenal.
I would hire them again (although knock on wood hopefully I won’t have to!)”
